I’ve always been drawn to vintage style, beautiful gardens and the quiet charm of period homes. Originally from Yorkshire, I grew up in a Grade II listed Victorian house, where weekends were often spent exploring antique shops with my dad.
Wandering through rooms filled with beautiful old objects, I was fascinated by the craftsmanship, delicate patterns and quiet sense of history each piece held. Those early adventures sparked a lifelong love of antiques and vintage.
It’s the details that continue to captivate me: the scent of a dusty old book, the satisfying weight of real silverware, the delicate pattern of bone china, or the way an ordinary cup of tea can become something quietly special when served in a beautiful cup.
I went on to study and build a career in fashion, specialising in vintage-inspired design alongside social media, marketing and branding.
In 2008, while working in fashion, I began blogging about the things I loved, vintage style, interiors, travel, antique shops and the search for beautiful treasures.
Over the years, that love of photography and writing evolved into what is now Macaulay-Turner Home, a place to share beautiful gardens, objects and everyday delights, alongside a fledgling shop of carefully sourced antique and vintage treasures.
Today, I live in Manchester, England, with my husband Zach and our cat, Pickle. We’re in the midst of restoring our Edwardian home, which means plenty of rolling up our sleeves, making slow progress and being permanently covered in dust.
Alongside renovating our own home, I work in design, marketing and branding for sustainable brands and charity organisations, while continuing to source fine antique and vintage tableware for Macaulay-Turner Home.
Each piece we choose is selected for its craftsmanship, character and history, but also for the possibility of creating something new: a table set for friends, a Sunday lunch, a cup of tea shared with someone you love.
Together, we’re slowly restoring our own home while building a life around the things we love and appreciating the simple pleasures of everyday life.
Thank you for stopping by.
